LU JINDRAK SKŘIVÁNKOVÁ
Lu Jindrák Skřivánková focused on a new colourfulness and even changed the painting viewpoint. Her paintings are now more abstract with accents of livid colourfulness that stays in its compositionality firmly anchored in traditional regularity of composition and painting technique. More so than with glazes, Lu nowadays works with paste and bulk, and also works through coloured pasty plasters, which add to her canvasses new structure and density. This experimental approach convenes much of its tapestry expression. Textile has a unique character, which reflects light in different ways; we want to touch and check the surface of textile paintings. Daniela Danielis in her studio WNOOZOW used to dye wool fibre on her own, it is also spinned by her, that way a new colour nuance can be created. For the tapestry of Lu she has also used silk, linen and leone ́s thread. The plasticity was achieved with the variously strong weft, sometimes with hand spinning knobs, which creates interesting effects on the surface of a tapestry. Daniela has reached structures created by the density of plaster material by replacing fine merino wool with thicker wool "valaska" from Slovakia. This individual approach is characteristic for weaving manufactures.
